NURS began in 1975 as a grass roots nursing group representing the interests of advanced practice psychiatric nurses and the clients we served. The group was organized to promote independent nursing practice for psychiatric clinical nurse specialists.

NURS is the only Massachusetts organization exclusively representing Psychiatric Clinical Specialist's and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in the political and managed care arenas.
