The Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford has an immediate need for a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist on its Geriatric Medical/Psychiatric unit. The Geriatric Medical/Psychiatric Program specializes in providing evaluations and treatments of psychiatric disorders in the geriatric population and patients with acute/chronic medical problems.

Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist

Part-time day shift, with benefits, three days/week

In this key role, you will provide psychiatric consultation/liaison activities for clinical services throughout the hospital while serving as a clinical resource in advancing the practice of professional nursing and competent nursing care. In addition, you will also foster collegial relationships among all members of the healthcare team, to include the patient, patient’s family and/or significant others.

To be considered, you must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Master’s of Science in Nursing required. Must be licensed, currently registered and authorized to practice as an RN-PC (advanced practice nurse: psychiatric clinician) in Massachusetts. CPR certification required. Prescriptive authority preferred.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of full-time employment in nursing education as well as 3-5 years of medical/surgical/clinical experience and evidence of clinical competence for specialty areas. Candidates should have demonstrated leadership abilities, the ability to work under stressful situations and strong communication skills.
